Five possible coaches to replace Kenichi Yatsuhashi

After the sacking of Kenichi Yatsuhashi, Pulse sports looks at five candidates who could take over the reins at Hearts of Oak.

Sergio Daniel Traguil

The bookmakers' favourite to replace Kenichi Yatsuhasi is Sergio Traguil. The 35-year-old Portuguese trainer has previously worked with the youth teams of Sporting Lisbon and Benfica.

He is known for his scouting credentials and very used to African players. The young coach is touted as the ‘new Mourinho’ back in his native Portugal.

A close source of Hearts of Oak told Pulse.com.gh: "Hearts are looking for a young coach to manage the team. Togbe has his eyes on youth football so I wouldn't be surprised if Traguil is appointed."

Traguil is currently the new head coach for Hearts' U20 and U17 youth teams known as the Auroras and Royal Oaks respectively.

Prof. Joseph Kwame Mintah

Prof. Mintah has been linked with the coaching job of Hearts of Oak.

The heavily-experienced coach is currently out of work after leaving Ebusua Dwarfs two years ago.

Mintah nearly clinched the deal to handle Hearts last season, but failed to secure his release from his current employers, the University of Cape Coast, a situation that compelled the Phobians to go in for Herbert Addo in 2014.

It was even Professor Mintah who recommended Coach Mohammed Abugri as his assistant and who was eventually signed on by the Phobians and is now with their youth team, Auroras.

David Duncan

The return of the out-spoken gaffer would certainly raise an eyebrow or two at Hearts of Oak.

Duncan guided Hearts to third spot in the 2013/14 league season in his first spell in charge before being sacked after disagreement with the management of the club.

He was also binned by Asante Kotoko earlier this year and has since taken a break from football.

Duncan has reportedly indicated he will return to management next season but a top job is likely to tempt him back into the game earlier than he currently plans.

Didi Dramani

The Ghana under 20 coach is going to be linked with every big job going, isn't he?

Hearts of Oak made a move before they hired Kenichi Yatsuhashi, while Dramanai has been tipped to take over at both Ashgold and Medeama in the future.

So of course, Hearts are going to be taking a look.

Dramani has showcased his abilities with the Black Maidens and Asante Kotoko - will the possibility of success in the Premier League appeal to him?

Kosta Papic

Another name to be linked with the Phobian job is Serbian coach Kostadin Papic.

Reports emanated last month that Hearts were interested in handing the former Kaizer Chiefs manager the reins in Accra.

Papic was strongly linked with the Hearts job after he was spotted in Ghana  last week to witness the Black Satellites’ tie with Ethiopia in the African Youth Championship qualifiers.

He coached Hearts in 2009 and the speculation was that he was set to take over from Kenichi Yatsuhashi before the start of the second round of the Ghana Premier League.
