The Ryder Cup often serves as a showcase for exceptional golf, but Brooks Koepka was guilty of a horror shot on Saturday.
Koepka hits brutal shank at Hazeltine
Brooks Koepka impressed in his first Ryder Cup match on Friday, but hit one of the worst shots in Ryder Cup history on Saturday morning.
The big-hitting American was faced with a tough second from the rough on the long par-four 12th hole at Hazeltine, and hit a screaming shank off the hosel.
However, to his credit, Koepka responded superbly to move to the brink of a second win in tandem with Brandt Snedeker.
After a number of wayward shots earlier in the round, rookie Koepka followed up his shank by hitting a wonderful four iron at the 253-yard 13th - setting up a birdie chance that Snedeker converted to put the Americans one up on Henrik Stenson and Matt Fitzpatrick.
Koepka then rolled in a lengthy putt on the 15th, leaving Stenson and Fitzpatrick two down with three to play.
