Golf: Bradley Drege leads Made in Denmark by two shots

Power lines by the 12th hole hindered Bradley Dredge on Saturday as his Made In Denmark lead was cut to just one shot.

Bradley Dredge had a run-in with electricity cables, but retained his place at the top of the Made In Denmark leaderboard, although the chasing pack of Thomas Pieters, David Lipsky and Adrian Otaegui closed to within on shot.

After holding a three-stroke advantage overnight, Dredge, who finished second at Himmerland in 2014 and sixth in 2015, endured a difficult Saturday.

A pair of birdies on the back nine were cancelled out by a double-bogey on the par-four 12th hole, where his initial drive found the rough and his provisional hit a power line to leave him in an even worse position.

Dredge took a drop and managed to sink his ball in six, but another dropped shot on 18 sent resulted in him carding a one-over 72, placing him on 12 under for the tournament.

"Not my best day. I really struggled with the driver which has been a big strength of mine in the last two days so it was a tough day and I just had to try and make the most of it to stay in there and hopefully I'll play better [on Sunday]," said Dredge.

"I always believe that if you want to win a tournament you've got to go out there and win it, so for me I try and play aggressively off the tee and into the pins."

Despite dropping two shots on the fourth hole, five birdies helped Pieters move up to joint-second with Lipsky and Otaegui on 11 under.

A par-saving chip on the 12th after his first attempt rolled back to him after failing to stick on the green helped secure a level round of 71 for Joakim Lagergren, who dropped back to fifth but remains within two shots of Dredge.

Martin Kaymer was seven under through 12 in a brilliant run that included an eagle on the par-five sixth, but a pair of bogies on 15 and 16 mean he sits in tied sixth with Ricardo Gouveia and Paul Dunne.

After narrowly missing out on a sub-60 round on Thursday, Tom Lewis' weekend continued to deteriorate as he carded 75 to drop back to 20th.
