U.S. Open champion Dustin Johnson is looking forward to his first Olympic Games after a productive meeting with USA Golf regarding the Zika virus.

Golf has seen a host of big names withdraw from August's competition in Rio over concerns about Zika, a mosquito-borne virus that has links to birth defects.

Jason Day, Rory McIlroy, Shane Lowry and Louis Oosthuizen have all opted out of the 2016 Games over the concerns, but Johnson remains keen to play.

The 32-year-old, who ended his wait for a major at Oakmont earlier this month, had his worries addressed during a meeting that was also attended by Jordan Spieth, Bubba Watson and Rickie Fowler.

"I think they’ve [USA Golf] got it covered pretty well," he told a media conference.

"I thought the meeting was good. It cleared up a lot of things. Still waiting to hear back on a couple things that all four of us had a concern about, but we'll have some answers early next week.

"At this point I'm going to go to the Olympics and represent my country, and I'm looking forward to it."
