Recap of Ghanaian Players Abroad for the weekend's football games

Jordan started and played in the full duration of the game with Marcus Rashford scoring the only goal for Manchester United to defeat Aston Villa.

Dutch-born Ghanaian player Timothy Fosu-Mensah also featured for his Manchester United team.

Abdul Baba Rahmanplayed the full game for his Chelsea side in their Premier League game against Manchester City. The Premier League Champions lost their home game at Stamford Bridge by three goals to nil against Manchester City.

Black Stars vice-captain Andre Ayew also played his second game after returning from injury for his Swansea City team who traveled to Newcastle United.

The Ghanaian played 71 minutes before getting replaced by Bafetimbi Gomis as Swansea City lost by three goals to nil against Rafael Benitez’s team.

Jeffrey Schluppand Daniel Amartey both played for Premier League leaders Leicester City in their home game against West Ham United.

Jeffrey Schlupp won a late penalty for Leicester City in the game at the King Power Stadium as his side secured a point from the 2-2 draw in their title run-in.

Albert Adomah featured for his Middlesbrough side in the English Championship away game against Bolton Wanderers.

The Ghanaian played the full game as his team won by two goals to one away from home.

In the Italian Serie A, Afriyie Acquah missed Torino’s 1-0 win against Bologna on Saturday.

Isaac Cofie played 79 minutes for Carpi in their home win against Genoa with Antonio Di Gaudio, Lorenzo Lollo, Lorenzo Pasciuti and Stefano Sabelli scoring the goals for the Ghanaian’s team.

Alfred Duncan also played in the Italian Serie A defeat for his Sassuolo team away from home against Fiorentina.

Kwadwo Asamoah was an unused substitute for Italian Serie A Champions Juventus who won by four goals to nil at home to Palermo.

Sami Khedira, Paul Pogba, Juan Cuadrado and Simone Padoin scored the goals for Juventus.

Udinese played a goalless draw at  home to Chievo Verona with Ghanaian midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu playing 51 minutes before being replaced by Emil Hallfredsson.

Ghanaian midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng was an 88th minute substitute for AC Milan in their 1-0 away victory at Sampdoria.

In the Spanish La Liga, Ghanaian player Bernard Mensah was an unused substitute in Getafe’s home game against Real Madrid. The Ghanaian and his team lost by five goals to one with Karim Benzeman, Isco, Gareth Bale, James Rodriguez and Cristiano Ronaldo scoring for Real Madrid.

Mubarak Wakaso did not make the squad for Las Palmas in their Spanish La Liga game against Sporting Gijon as the Ghanaian is still out injured. The game between Las Palmas and Sporting Gijon ended 1-1.

Daniel Opare played for his Augsburg team in the German Bundesliga  on Saturday as they won by a goal  to nil against VfB Stuttgart. The Ghanaian played the full game for his Augsburg team.

In the French Ligue 1, Abdul Majeed Waris came on for FC Lorient as a 64th minute substitute replacing Benjamin Moukandjo. The Black Stars forward and his team secured a 1-1 draw against Toulouse having scored a late equalizer.

In the Major League Soccer, Emmanuel Boateng made a 67th minute appearance for LA Galaxy as they won by four goals to one against Houston Dynamo away from home. The Ghanaian player replaced Mike Magee in the win for his team.

David Accam missed Chicago Fire’s 2-1 defeat against Montreal Impact as the Black Stars forward is still out injured. The forward had to withdraw from the Black Stars squad during the international break due to the injury.

Patrick Nyarko played 68 minutes for DC United who lost their home game against Toronto FC in the MLS.

Harrison Afful and Kwadwo Poku had a short face-off in the MLS when Columbus Crew entertained New York City FC at home.

Afful started the game and played 79 minutes for Columbus Crew with Poku coming on in the 58th minute for New York City FC. Harrison Afful’s Columbus Crew won the game by three goals to nil.

Lloyd Sam made an 87th minute appearance for New York Red Bulls who were defeated away from home against Colorado Rapids in the MLS.

Charles Sarpong played the full game for Philadelphia Union in their away defeat against Seattle Sounders. Sarpong and his teammates lost by two goals to one.

Adam Larsen Kwarasey and his Portland Timbers team won their home game against San Jose Earthquakes by three goals to one. The Ghanaian goalkeeper did not finish the game as he was replaced by Jacob Gleeson after 50 minutes of play due to an injury.
