Recap of Ghanaian Players Abroad for weekend's football action

The Ghanaian forward needed just two minutes after his introduction to score the last of four goals for his Shanghai SIPG team in their 4-0 win at the Shanghai Stadium.

Gyan aggravated his injury on international duty and missed Ghana’s two games against Mozambique.

Black Stars vice-captain Andre Ayew also made an injury return in the English Premier League as his Swansea City team entertained Abdul Baba Rahmans Chelsea at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday.

Ayew and his team won the game against the Premier League champions ending Guus Hiddink’s unbeaten run in the league since replacing Jose Mourinho at Stamford Bridge.

Andre Ayew played 67 minutes in the game with Chelsea’s Abdul Baba Rahman playing the entire duration.

Jordan Ayew and his Aston Villa team avoided being officially relegated despite their 2-1 defeat at home to Christian Atsu’s former club AFC Bournemouth.

Jordan scored the only goal for his Villa side who avoided relegation after Norwich City failed to get a point against Crystal Palace.

The Ghanaian striker played in the entire duration of the game for his Aston Villa team.

Daniel Amartey made an 84th minute appearance for English Premier League leaders Leicester City in their away win against Sunderland. Two second half goals from Jamie Vardy won the game by two goals to nil for Amartey’s team.

Jeffrey Schlupp did not play a part in the game as he was not included in the match day squad for Leicester City.

In the English Championship, Albert Adomah scored the only goal of the game between his Middlesbrough side and Preston North End as the Ghanaian grabbed all three points for Aitor Karanka’s team at home.

Abdul Majeed Waris scored in the French Ligue 1 for FC Lorient who won their away game at Caen. The Ghanaian scored the second of Lorient’s goals from the penalty spot in the 2-1 win against Caen. Majeed Waris was replaced by Yrondu Musavu-King in the 84th minute of the game.

In the Italian Serie A, Kevin-Price Boateng and Kwadwo Asamoah had a face-off in the game between AC Milan and Juventus.

Both Ghanaian players came off the bench to play for their respective clubs as Asamoah’s Juventus won the game by two goals to one despite Boateng’s AC Milan playing at home.

Isaac Cofie played the full game for his Carpi team who lost their Serie A away game against Chievo Verona.

Alfred Duncan played 87 minutes in the Italian Serie A on Sunday as his Sassuolo team lost their home game against Genoa by a single goal to nil.

Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu missed Udinese’s 2-0 defeat away at Samdoria as the Ghanaian did not travel with his Serie A team.

Afriyie Acquah played the first half of Torino’s 2-1 Italian Serie A win over Atalanta. The Ghanaian midfielder was replaced by Marco Benassi in the second half of Torino’s game.

In the Spanish La Liga Thomas Teye Partey replaced Antoine Griezmann to play 30 minutes for his Atletico Madrid team in their 3-1 win against Espanyol. Atletico cut their point deficit to three behind Barcelona who lost away at Real Sociedad.

Christian Atsu made a 68 minute appearance for Malaga in their goalless draw away from home to Granada.

Benard Mensah was not named in the Getafe squad that lost by two goals to nil against Villarreal.

In Switzerland, Ebenezer Assifuah played the full game as his Sion team won their home game against Thun by two goals to one.

Samuel Inkoom started and played the full duration of Antalyaspor’s goalless draw against Kayserispor in the Turkish League.

Mahatma Otoo scored the only goal of the game for his Sogndal team as they defeated Haugensund in the Norwegian top-flight.
