WAFA bury Kotoko at Sogakope

WAFA made nonsense of Kotoko’s pre-season form as they edged them by two goals to nil.

Charles Boateng and Samuel Tetteh scored in both halves of the game to nail the Porcupine Warriors to the cross.

Kotoko started the game very well by making some good incursions in the early minutes of the game, but WAFA responded with fast free flow football and took over the game.

Charles Boateng set the stadium alight with the match opener in the 41 minute to enable WAFA enter the dressing room with a goal in hand.

Kotoko back from recess pushed more men upfront, but they were caught off guard when sensational Samuel Tetteh, whose good display last season earned him a call-up into the Black Stars, took a ball from the touch line and went solo to slot the ball at the blind side of Eric Ofori Antwi in the 47st minute.

Samuel Tetteh who made good account of himself was adjudged the man of the match of the game.

WAFA are now Asante Kotoko's boggy side, having denied them a goal in all their 4 previous visits to their home grounds, starting from 2005 when they were then called Feyenoord Academy. Last season they handed the Porcupine Warriors a 1-0 defeat at the same venue.

Last Kotoko in a similar fashion started the season with a defeat when Aduana Stars piped them 1-0 at Dormaa, while WAFA also lost their opening day game to Hearts of Oak at Kpando in an away fixture.

WAFA have made the Sogakope Astro Turf a fortress, after they lost 0-1 at home to Ashgold in their first league game at home and no other side has managed to breach their walls again.
