Statistics after match day 25

New Edubiase United made the headlines for the right reason in the mid-week when they produced an incredible away performance, as they stunned Techiman City.

New Edubiase United were the only side they earned an away league victory in the mid-week out of the 5 wins.

The Edubiase lads who were condemned to relegation, after match day 24 draw at home against WAFA, defied all odds to hand Techiman City a painful defeat at their backyard and revive hopes of staying in the league.

The defeat to Techiman City is their second consecutive home loss. Ebusua Dwarfs ended their unbeaten home record for the season and in their next home game after that defeat bottom club, New Edubiase United ditched them 2-1 to run away with all the three points.

Techiman City, following the loss, have been pushed down to 13th position, lying just above the drop zone, with 5 games to end the season and are now in danger of facing relegation.

Ebusua Dwarfs, the team of the moment extended their unbeaten run to 6 straight games, (W4, D2). The last time they lost a game was match day 19 against Berekum Chelsea in an away fixture.

Ebusua Dwarfs who were lying in the drop zone have leapfrogged to 7th place on the log sheet. All thanks to Coach Prosper Nartey who took over from J.E Sarpong.

Ashanti Gold continued their newly discovered form in the second half when they defeated Liberty Professionals 2-0.

The defeat means that the Scientific Soccer lads in the second half of the league in 10 league games have won just one and suffered 6 defeats, with 3 draws.

Charles Boateng was the first player to score a goal this season, when his opener aided WAFA to edge Kotoko 2-0, with Samuel Tetteh scoring the other on the opening day of the Ghana Premier League

The first hat-trick of the season was registered by Samuel Tetteh on match day 3 when WAFA thrashed Hasaacas 5-0. Yahaya Mohammed registered the second hat-trick of the season, after hitting 3 past Hasaacas on match day 8. Dauda Mohammed completed the first round of the season with the 3rd hat-trick as Kotoko defeated Techiman City 4-2 before Latif Blessing bagged a hat-trick against Hasaacas to record the 4 of the season.

The first player to be sent off was Eric Kumi, for receiving the 2nd booking for taking off his shirt, after scoring against Medeama.

Emmanuel Hayford and Lord Ofushene of Dreams FC and Inter Allies respectively were the first two persons to see a direct red card, following a scuffle between them in their sides 2-2 draw.
