Hearts surrendered top spot to Wa All Stars, while Techiman City edged to end their unbeaten home run

West African Football Academy (WAFA) shattered the away invincibility of Hearts of oak when they thrashed them 3-0 at the Sogakope astroturf Park. Hearts had won 5, drawn 6 ahead of the tie and were expectant of avoiding a defeat, despite WAFA boasting of an incredible home form, but in the end, the academy boys went on the rampage and reduced the Phobians into shreds.

Wa All Stars dislodged Hearts of Oak from the summit of the league table when they defeated Bechem United 2-0 after the Phobians had fallen on Saturday at Sogakope.

Asante Kotoko returned to winning ways, after 5 games without victory when they piped Dreams FC by a goal to nil through a controversial late penalty. The penalty call almost resulted in a confusion as the playing body got mad at the referee for his decision.

After sanity prevailed, Amos Frimpong the skipper of Asante KotoAAko stepped up to score from the spot-kick. Frimpong is now on 7 goals, making him the joint leading top scorers of the club with Dauda Mohammed.

In-form Dwarfs ended Techiman City’s enviable unbeaten home run this season when they edged them 1-0.

The troubles of New Edubiase United continued on match day 23 when Ashanti Gold hammered them 2-0 at the Len Clay Sports Stadium, Obuasi. The first player to be sent off was Eric Kumi, for receiving the 2nd booking for taking off his shirt, after scoring against Medeama.

Emmanuel Hayford and Lord Ofushene of Dreams FC and Inter Allies respectively were the first two persons to see a direct red card, following a scuffle between them in their sides 2-2 draw.
