Statistics after match day 22

Latif Blessing hit the headlines for scoring a hat-trick against Hasaacas at Dansoman for Liberty Professionals.

Liberty Professionals whipped Hasaacas 4-0 to register their first league victory in 8 games, (L4, D3). They had last won a league game on match day 14 against Hearts of Oak in Accra.

The Sekondi lads have suffered more heavy defeats than any other side this season: WAFA defeated them 5-0 on match day 3 and lost 4-0 to Aduana Stars on match day 8.

Ashanti Gold, the draw specialists extended their total number of draws for the season to 14 games after they held league leaders, Accra Hearts of Oak to a 1-1 draw.

Hearts of Oak are still enjoying a good time at the summit of the league table, despite sharing honours with the Miners, because Wa All Stars, who are the closest league contenders also fell 0-2 at Tema against Inter Allies.

Hearts of Oak are leading the table with 4-points gap, but Wa All Stars will reduce it to a point if they manage to win their outstanding game against Medeama.

New Edubiase United deepened the woes of troubled Asante Kotoko when they edged them 2-1 at the Len Clay Sports Stadium to register a home and away league victories over their regional rivals.

Asante Kotoko have recorded just a win in 7 league games in the second round, (L2, D4).

Although New Edubiase United earned three points, they are 4 away from their closest rivals Hasaacas and Inter Allies in the relegation battle.

Ebusua Dwarfs continued their impressive run in the second round, as they piped West African Football Academy (WAFA) by a goal to nil through Bright Luqman’s penalty kick. The win is their 4th in the second half of the season in 7 games, having drawn 1 and lost two to lift themselves from the drop zone to 10th place.

Aduana Stars were the only away winners on match day 22, when they stunned Medeama SC 1-0 at the T and A Park.

Yahaya Mohammed scored the only goal against Aduana Stars on Thursday to go joint top scorer, with Latif Blessing.

The highest number of goals scored by a single club in a game were 5 goals by WAFA in a 5-0 win over Hasaacas on match day 3 and Liberty Professionals when they defeated Ashgold 5-1 on match day 6.

Dauda Mohammed scored the fastest goal of the first half of the season. It came under one (1) minute against Dreams FC at Dawu on match day 8

Charles Boateng was the first player to score a goal this season, when his opener aided WAFA to edge Kotoko 2-0, with Samuel Tetteh scoring the other in the opening day of the Ghana Premier League

The first hat-trick of the season was registered by Samuel Tetteh on match day 3 when WAFA thrashed Hasaacas 5-0. Yahaya Mohammed registered the second hat-trick of the season, after hitting 3 past Hasaacas on match day 8. Dauda Mohammed completed the first round of the season with the 3rd hat-trick as Kotoko defeated Techiman City 4-2, before Latif Blessing bagged a hat-trick against Hasaacas to record the 4 of the season.

The first player to be sent off was Eric Kumi, for receiving a 2nd booking for taking off his shirt, after scoring against Medeama.

Emmanuel Hayford and Lord Ofushene of Dreams FC and Inter Allies respectively were the first two persons to see a direct red card, following a scuffle between them in their sides 2-2 draw.
