Hearts of Oak host Dreams FC in Accra

Preview of the Ghana Premier League game between Hearts of Oak and Dreams FC.

The domestic top-flight championship which went on break for 21 days after  the first round of games will be resuming this weekend across various venues.

The Phobians in the first round (on match day 15) drew with a 1-1 against the Kweiman based club at the Dawu Park – a game the Accra giants came from behind to draw even after Paul Acquah 80 minute strike cancelled out Lawson Bekui’s first half goal.

Hears of Oak for the first time in the ongoing campaign will be going into the game without Kenichi Yatsuhashi following the Japanese-American’s decision to terminate his contract after he failed to reach a 25-day leave agreement with the team. But his position has been taken by Portuguese tactician Sergio Traguil.

Both sides in the second transfer window made some interesting signings. The Phobians signed Patrick Razak, Macou Badu and Kassenu Ghandi while Dreams FC captured Abeiku Ainooson, Michael Sarpong and Theophilus Anorbah.

Hearts of Oak winger Thomas Abbey ahead of Sunday’s game spoke to Pulse.com.gh.

“The first game was very difficult but we managed to pick a point at Dawu. Now we are playing at home and we have to win the game,” said Abbey

“We are much focused because our aim is to win the game because we have not been faring well in our home games but this time it will be different.”

But Dreams FC winger Godwin Horlali believes they have what it takes to shock the Phobians in Accra.

“We outplayed them in the first game it was unfortunate they earned in a point in Dawu but we are coming to Accra to shock them.

“We have a good team and a strong bench that in any day can beat any team so the aim for Sunday is the three points,” Horlali said.
