Hearts of Oak eye first win as they host champions Wa All Stars

Match preview of the Ghana Premier League game between Hearts of Oak and champions Wa All Stars.

The former African champions in their midweek game settled for a 1-1 draw game with Ebusua Dwarfs at the Cape Coast Stadium.

The Phobians after playing three games, have failed to get a win. They have drawn all their games. With previous results not going in their favour the team is really under pressure to beat Wa All Stars.

For the Wa blues, they will be begin their title defence against the Accra giants. They have seen their opening three games rescheduled due to their commitment in Africa.

Wa All Stars who got kicked of this year’s CAF Champions League by Libyan side Al Ahly will be playing their first Premier League game since September 2016.

Last season, Hearts of Oak failed to win a Premier League game against Wa All Stars – the Phobians lost 3-1 in the first game in Accra, before drawing 1-1 in the reverse fixture in Wa.

Hearts of Oak in their last home game against Medeama, played out a pulsating goalless draw game.

Ahead of their Sunday’s clash with Wa All Stars they are poised for action according to Inusah Musah.

“Three games without a win is not good for a club like Hearts of Oak,” Musah told Pulse.com.gh.“ The supporters are not happy because of those results so we have to make them happy.”

“We will go all out against Wa All Stars, we are aware of what they did to us last season but this this time no way for them. We are going for a revenge and we will do it, the supporters should come to the stadium and watch us beat them.”

Last season Richard Arthur played a big role in Wa All Stars’ 3-1 win over Hearts of Oak in Accra and the goal poacher is confident of his side’s win over the Phobians again.

“We are now out of Africa our concentratition now is on the league. Hearts of Oak is a big club in Ghana but we know how to beat them,” Arthur told Pulse.com.gh.

“Last season we gave them 3-1, they will definitely be coming for a revenge but that won’t happen we will beat them,” he reiterated.
