Kotoko board unaware of David Duncan’s sack

The management of Kotoko went ahead to ask David Duncan to step aside without the consent of the board of directors of the club.

Yahaya Mohammed’s 55 minute goal sent the Porcupine Warriors to the bottom of the league table and that cost David Duncan his job, after the management of the club asked him to step aside.

However, a member of the board and also the chairman of the supporters group of Kotoko, Kwaku Amponsah popularly known in football circles as K-5 has revealed that the board is not aware of management decision to relieve Duncan of his job, after their 0-1 defeat to Aduana Stars.

“I saw on a certain platform around 5:00am that David Duncan has been asked to step aside by the club, so I called the board chairman to confirm it,” he told Asempa FM.

“He told me that Opoku Nti called yesterday to inform him of management intention to let Duncan step aside, but he rather told Opoku Nti to wait, so that they can all brainstorm and determine the future of Duncan at Kotoko.

“The board chairman was surprised that Opoku Nti went ahead to decide on the matter, by disregarding his directives, hence he will call for an emergency board meeting to look at the way forward.”
