GPL team for match day four

Pulse Sports has selected the XI players who were outstanding in their respective positions on match day four of the Ghana Premier League.

Felix Annan

The Asante Kotooko shot-stopper made several point-blank saves and other crucial saves to salvage all the three points for Asante Kotoko in their crunchy tie against AshGold in their match day four replay in Obuasi.

Abdul Bashiru

The former Dreams FC right back was spot on with his tackles, surging runs and recovery, as his new side Bechem United were held to a goalless draw at home in the Brong Ahafo derby against Berekum Chelsea.

Christopher Nortey

The Accra Gt. Olympics left-back was very effective in his assigned role on Sunday when they lost 0-1 against, debutants, Bolga All Stars. Christopher Nortey contributed immensely to the attack of the visitors and his ability to draw back quickly to defend was incredible. His passes were very accurate and it wasn’t a fluke that he emerged as the Man of the Match in the game.

Samad Ibrahim

The Ashanti Gold centre-back cleared his defensive area very well and hadn’t been him the Miners would have conceded two additional goals. He was indeed a pillar in defence for the hosts and despite his outfit losing he made a good account for himself on the day.

Wahab Adams

The Aduana Stars centre-back kept the WAFA defence at bay when they prevented a defeat against the team with the current best home unbeaten run in the Ghana Premier League. WAFA tormented the defence area of the Dorma boys, yet Wahab combined perfectly with Anokye Badu to neutralise their attack and the former ensured he cleared his defence line very well to give Aduana Stars a vital away point.

Daniel Kodie

He marshalled the midfield very well by winning most of the 50-50 ball and his final touch of the ball was perfect. He was named the Man of the Match, as his side Accra Hearts of Oak defeated Wa All Stars 2-1.

Isaac Twum

The Inter Allies midfielder continued from where he left off on match day three by putting up another good display when his side defeated Ebusua Dwarfs 2-1. Isaac Twum managed to control the central part of the park- He retained possession for the hosts and also distributed the balls well.

Isaac Mensah

The central midfielder for new boys, Elmina Sharks was impressive in midfield. He defended well and his attacking prowess was well felt. Isaac Mensah struck four freekicks and scored from one of them to register his side’s maiden league win.

Alexander Kouassi

The foreign import caught the eyes of many spectators who trooped to the Ohene Djan Sports Stadium, Accra to watch Hearts of Oak beat Wa All Stars 2-1. He scored a well taken one to give the Phobians the opener and also gave the incisive cross that was headed in by Thomas Abbey to give the hosts their first win of the season. Alexander Kouassi’s contribution to team play was also good on the day.

Emmanuel Gyamfi

The former Wa All Stars wingman is making a several inroads in Asante Kotoko. His speed and trickery dribbles on the wings gave Asante Kotoko a lot bite in attack when they faced AshGold in the first half and early stages of the second half.

Bernard Arthur

He was the two-goal hero for Liberty Professionals in their 3-1 victory over Medeama SC at the Dansoman Carl Reindorf. Bernard Arthur didn’t just get the goals, he was seen everywhere infront of goal tormenting the attack of Medeama.

N/B: Bernard Arthur, who is an attacking midfielder will be deployed as a false number 9 in the GPL team for match day four following his two goals.
