Ben Nunoo Mensah, the President of the Ghana Weightlifting has been elected as the new President of the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) after beating off competition from incumbent Professor Francis Dodoo.
Ben Nunoo Mensah polled 33 votes against 28 by Prof Francis Dodoo in the elections held at the Alisa Hotel on Wednesday.
Francis Dodoo went on opposed in 2011 when he was voted as the President of the Ghana Olympic Committee and took over from BT Baba.

The former athlete, was however, criticised for failing to honour his promised and it wasn't surprising that he lost to Ben Nunoo Mensah who managed to mobilise fans to send the Weightlifting to an international competition.
