Asante Kotoko have rubbished reports in the local media indicating that they won’t honour the Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) Cup match against Aduana Stars.

Reports were rife in the local media late Wednesday that the club’s Director of Operations, Ernest Owusu Ansah, has stated the Kumasi based club will not honour the cup match billed for January 28th because of time constraints.

But in a swift response, the Director of Operations has debunked those reports attributed to him.

“That story is false. I haven’t spoken anywhere. The story isn’t true. Our supporters and the media should please ignore it,” he told the club’s website..

Kotoko were prepared to play the match on any date agreed upon by the parties involved,” he added.

Kotoko won the SWAG Cup this year after beating Ashanti Gold 1-0 in Kumasi courtsey of Eric Donkor’s late strike.
