Hearts of Oak thrashed Asante Kotoko 3-1 in the first leg of the Ghana@60 anniversary game at the Ohene Djan Sports Stadium, Accra on Monday.

The first half which was an end to end action failed to produce any goal.

Back from recess Kwame Kozito who came on for Cosmos Dauda broke the deadlock, but Asante Kotoko responded quickly with the equaliser from Awal Mohammed's header.

However, Hearts of Oak took control of the game and Thomas Abbey restored their lead, before the Phobians registered the third goal through Patrick Razak to beat their bitterest rivals 3-1.

Patrick Razak, whose speed and skills made its difficult for the Kotoko defence was named the man of the match

The second leg will be played on 28th May, 2017 in Kumasi.
