Kotoko wallop Bechem United 3-0

The Porcupine Warriors hammered the FA Cup champions 3-0 defeat in the G6 tournament.

Goals from Emmanuel Gyamfi, Obed Owusu and Amos Frimpong settled the score in Kotoko’s favour.

The hosts dominated the first half and nimble footed, Emmanuel Gyamfi crowned it with a goal in the 15th minute.

Back from recess the Porcupine Warriors doubled the score line in the 56 minute, despite Bechem United’s quest to snatch the equaliser.

Dauda Mohammed who was introduced in the game earned Kotoko a penalty, after he was brought down in the 18-yard-box and penalty specialist, Amos Frimpong scored from the resultant kick to make it 3-0 in the 73 minute.

Ahmed Toure, who was playing against his former side, Asante Kotoko failed to live up to the expectation.

Bechem United before this game had denied the Porcupine Warriors a victory in their last two visits: drew in the league and again held them to a draw in the FA Cup and subsequently won through penalty shootout to progress. Hence, the win for the hosts is a big sigh of relief for them.

Asante Kotoko’s next game in the G6 tournament is against the Ghana Premier League champions, Wa All Stars at Sunyani Coronation Park on Sunday
