The 30-man shortlist for the award is being announced throughout Monday, with the Manchester United and Bayern Munich strikers among five players added to the 10 already revealed.
Barcelona midfielder Andres Iniesta, Atletico Madrid star Koke and Real Madrid's Toni Kroos are the others to make the shortlist for the game's most prestigious individual award.
Ibrahimovic scored 50 goals and helped Paris Saint-Germain to a second consecutive domestic treble prior to signing for Manchester United ahead of the 2016-17 campaign.
Lewandowski has also enjoyed a prolific year and struck 42 times last season as Bayern won the double in Pep Guardiola's final campaign with the club. He has already reached 10 this term under Carlo Ancelotti.
Iniesta – who finished in the top four for the award for three straight years between 2010 and 2012 - helped Barca to LaLiga glory in 2016, while Kroos won his second Champions League crown.
Koke, meanwhile, helped Atletico to the final of Europe's elite club competition for the second time in three seasons with a string of inspirational displays.
Sergio Aguero, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Gareth Bale, Gianluigi Buffon, Cristiano Ronaldo, Kevin De Bruyne, Paulo Dybala, Diego Godin, Antoine Griezmann and Gonzalo Higuain have already made the cut, with the final 15 names still to come.
