The Black Stars lost 2-0 to the Indomitable Lions in the semi-finals of the just ended Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon.

Hugo Broos' men went on to win the trophy after defeating seven-time champions Egypt 2-1 in the final.

The result meant that Ghana failed to end a trophy drought running all the way from 1982.

Grant subsequently resigned from his post as Ghana coach, having failed to lead the side to glory after two attempts – in 2015 and 2017.

The former Chelsea boss has now opened up on his worst moments during his two-year stay with the Black Stars, adding that the team will lay their hands on that elusive fifth trophy soon.

“[The loss against Cameroon] made me very, very sad,” Grant told Bola Ray on StarrChat.

“It was one of the most painful losses in my life – the last semi-final [against Cameroon]. I thought that we could do it and we deserved it.

“[But] this is life. And I think that with this squad Ghana will eventually win the [Africa] Cup…. I wish everybody all the best and they need to relax. This Black Stars will win the African Cup.”

The Israeli, however, failed to disclose his next destination after resigning from his post as Ghana coach.
