Champions League football won't be a factor - Dede Ayew

The Black Stars player says that Champions' League football will not be a consideration in his next club destination.

Ghana international Dede Ayew says champions’ league football will not be the main criteria in determining his main career destination.

Ayew is due to play his final match for Olympique Marseille and bring a ten year career with the French giants to an end this weekend.

He has since been linked with a lot of clubs with Liverpool and AS Roma thought to be two of the potential destinations.

Ayew says he has received offers from clubs in Germany, Italy and England and says a major factor in that will be to go to a country where he can prove himself all over again.

"I need to see something new - a new country, culture, league," Ayew told World Football program on the BBC World Service. "I want to prove my worth somewhere; where people don't know me as well as they do in France."

"It doesn't have to be a Champions league club. I've played in the competition before, it's the best competition in the world but it's not the first criteria. I think the first criterion is the team project, what the team wants to do in the future because I want to play for a long time and try to win trophies because that's what football is all about."

"It's important for me to choose, not the club playing in the Champions League now, but the club that has a great project for the future."
