The youngest Ayew was the target of criticism after Ghana’s opening group game against Uganda but bounced back to set up Asamoah Gyan’s  winner against Mali.

In an interview with Pulse.com.gh,the Aston Villa star said he always has belief in his abilities.

“I am always confident because I know the quality I have. The coach and the players have confidence in me so there is no problem.”

On questions about his fitness, he explained he had to increase his workload to make up for other teammates.

“Two of our stars (Andre and Asamoah) were not hundred percent so I have to run more and I do that with a good heart and good spirit.”
