Bayern Munich manager Pep Guardiola will be leaving the German club at the end of the current seaon. That is for sure.

The German champions confirmed former Chelsea and Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti as the manager to take over after announcing the departure of their Spanish coach when his contract runs out.

Pep Guardiola has been reported to have signed a deal with Premier League club Manchester City since the news of his departure from Bayern Munich broke.

The former Barcelona player and coach despite admitting to England being his next stop revealed he hasn’t signed any contract yet, putting Manchester United and Chelsea on alert.

Guardiola told reporters on Tuesday:

“The only reason why I am not renewing my contract is that I am looking for a new challenge. I want to experience a new city and I want to work in England. That is the reason I have taken this decision.

“I have several offers from England but I haven’t signed anything yet. If I were 60 or 65, I would’ve stayed, but I think I am too young. I need a new challenge.

“It was a dream, it is a dream. I am very grateful to Bayern Munich for this huge opportunity.”

Chelsea are looking for a new manager after sacking Jose Mourinho with Guus Hiddink handling first team duties until the end of the season.
