Michael Essien trains alone due to injury as MLS rumours continue

The former Chelsea player who now plays for Persib Bandung in Indonesia was left out of training with the other players of the club due to injury.

Persib’s training session which took place on Tuesday saw Michael Essien have isolated in the different exercise regime with the club’s physiotherapist Benidiktus Adi Priyanto.

Essien training was focused on power rather than speed as the Ghanaian player can’t handle the quick reaction of the entire team.

“He has already made a program in London and has come here and I have coordinated with the doctor to see his progress because normally injuries are difficult for fast movement or quick reaction, so we want to see first," Benidiktus told reporters after the exercise.

“If the condition is okay, he can join the team,” he added.

Michael Essien has been linked with a transfer move from the Indonesian league to the Major League Soccer with D.C United reported interested.
