The Argentine was considering his future after Atleti's Champions League final defeat to rivals Real Madrid in May, but later confirmed he intends to stay at the Vicente Calderon.
However, Simeone has continued to be linked to other jobs, including the Argentina national team post, and has now spoken of a potential move later in his career.
"I am a young coach so I feel that [managing elsewhere] is possible," he told the media ahead of Atleti's International Champions Cup fixture against Tottenham in Melbourne.
"There are many other leagues that would provide great challenges, but the English and Italian leagues are particularly attractive."

"I think we have a strong team," he added. "We are enthusiastic and have big hopes.
"We have improved the work we are doing as a club and as a team. We are strong and want to work hard to reach our potential."
