Elmina Sharks managed to beat AshGold 1-2 at the Obuasi Len Clay Sports Stadium on match day 23 of the Ghana Premier League.
The visitors scored twice in the first half through Eric Osei and Benjamin Tweneboah before AshGold pulled oe back in the second half.
AshGold had an early minute penalty kick, but Richard Ocran who had a bad day in office saw his kick saved by Richard Arthur in post.
Minutes later referee Samuel Sukah awarded a penalty in favour of Sharks and Eric Osei who stepped forward for the spot kick struck it in perfectly for the opener.
Elmina Sharks after soaking the pressure pilled on them by AshGold doubled the score line through counter attack. Benjamin Tweneboah took advantage of poor defending from the Miners to score the second.
AshGold after the interval enjoyed plenty of ball possession yet they found the defence of the Elmina based side difficult to crack.
They could only get a consolation goal with 16 minutes to end proceedings when Prince Owusu took on a player and in a solo effort struck the ball at the blind side of the goalie.
