Idrissa Toure and Vitaly Janelt were sent home early from the Germany Under-19s squad after a fire was reportedly discovered in their hotel room during a trip to Albania for a European Championship qualifier.

The duo, who both play for Bundesliga outfit RB Leipzig, were suspended for the remainder of the national team's activities last week by the German Football Association (DFB) and missed the subsequent match against Republic of Ireland on Tuesday after being involved in the squad against Albania on October 8.

A report in German publication Bild suggests the fire was caused by a shisha pipe and discovered by hotel staff while the two players were training but was fortunately prevented from spreading elsewhere.

Germany U-19 coach Frank Kramer said to Bild: "Unfortunately there was an incident where people did not behave like professionals.

"The facts were clear. That's why we did not have any other possibility than to send these players home because of undisciplined behaviour. This happened after consulting with their club."

Leipzig are yet to officially comment on the incident.
