The 35-year-old right back was last playing for Maritzburg United before leaving the club, and has now been installed next to Steve Komphela at Chiefs.

Former Ghana international, John Paintsil, has been named the new assistant coach for South African giants Kaizer Chiefs, the club announced on Monday.

Paintsil, who brought an end to his 17-year playing career last week after announcing his retirement, knows Komphela from his time with the coach at Maritzburg United.

Also joining the Amakhosi technical team are Marco Muhnoz (physical trainer) and Alexandre Revoredo (goalkeeper coach). Brian Baloyi will remain part of the goalkeeping department.

The announcement of Revered triggered questions of Brian Baloyi's position at the club, but Chiefs confirmed on Twitter that the legendary shot-stopper will still be a part of the goalkeepering department at the club.
