The last time the Black Stars faced the Super Eagles was in the 2014 African Nations Championship, with the match ending in a dull 0-0 draw.

However, it appears the two nations will cross paths once again in March after Nigeria coach Gernot Rohr revealed that his side will be facing Ghana, as well as Senegal, in a friendly.

Although the Ghana Football Association (GFA) is yet to confirm the friendly, the Nigerian coach has disclosed that the Super Eagles “are to play Ghana”.

“Senegal, who are one of the strongest countries in Africa, will play us [Nigeria] in March, and also we are to play Ghana who were fourth at the last Nations Cup in Gabon," Rohr is quoted as saying by Goal.com.

“Senegal will help us play against Cameroon, but the game against Ghana will shape us up for the cracker against South Africa.

“We will use the two games to see some new players in some key positions. We don’t play these games for results. That is not to necessarily win but to see our team and the new players who will be invited.”

Nigeria is paired in group E, together with South Africa, Seychelles and Libya in the qualification face for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon. Whiles the Black Stars will also battle against Kenya, Sierra Leone and Ethiopia in group F for a place at the tournament.

Both Ghana and Nigeria will use the warm-up match as a preparation for their upcoming World Cup and Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
