A 2-1 defeat at the hands of Tema Youth on Wednesday means that Hearts are already eight points behind Kotoko, and another setback could have dire consequences on their title ambitions.
However, Frank Nuttal is optimistic about the chances of his side ahead of the crucial encounter.
According to him, although the mental strength of his players will be tested, he trusts they can pull through.
''The psychology of my players wouldn’t be affected despite our loss to Tema Youth. We have spoken about that already, but there will be a need to have a strong mentality going into the Kotoko game,'' the Hearts boss said in the aftermath of his side’s loss to Tema Youth.
''So we’ll see who has got the leadership quality, and from what I have seen so far this season, we have guys in squad we can go and do the job on Sunday.''
Hearts have not enjoyed the best of fortune when playing against Kotoko at home, and will be hoping to end that poor home record against their eternal rivals.
