Hearts never underrated Bolga AllStars – Frank Nuttal

The Phobians coach believes his side played to their best ability, but were just unable to get the win.

The Phobians were dealt a setback after being held 3-3 by league debutants Bolga AllStars at the Tamale Park.

Having taken an early lead through Vincent Atinga, Hearts were left reeling after the Bolga-based side overturned the result to lead 3-2 in the second, before a late leveler from Alexander Kouassi made sure the spoils were shared.

And Frank Nuttal believes his side’s inability to grab a win was not down to underrating the opponents, insisting his players played to their best ability.

“We didn’t underrate Bolga All Stars, we scored in the first 30 seconds and we really pushed and we feel we should have had a penalty. And if it was given it would have been 2-0, so we were pushing,” he told reporters in the aftermath of the game.

"When it was one each, we pushed for 2-1 and we got motivated and it was two each and 3-2, and we came to 3-3. And at the end of the game we came close in getting the winner, so i don’t think someone can say we underrate them, we didn’t.”

Hearts of Oak currently lie 3rd on the league log, and will next be facing league-leaders WAFA.
