Coach Kwesi Appiah has named an initial 30-man squad for Ghana’s upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Ethiopia.
Sixteen players reported for training when the team converged at the Accra Sports stadium, with others yet to report to camp.
Sarfo was part of the Black Stars squad that trained on Wednesday, and the Liberty Professionals captain has described training with other senior members of the national team as a privilege.
“It feels good being among the [Black] Stars of our time. So it’s a privilege for someone like me, a local player, train with such stars,” Sarfo told the media after Wednesday’s training session.

“It [training with the Black Stars] is a morale-booster for us [local players] and also to enhance our performance. Because they [senior players] are playing abroad and they have been here for a small time, so at least the little that they bring on board we have to tap into that so that we can also be the best.”
Quizzed on how he would feel if he was to be dropped from the final squad, Sarfo said: “Being here is [already] a plus for us. It happens, this is not the first time, so if it happens, we take it cool.”
The Black Stars will travel to Kumasi on Monday for final preparations before taking on Ethiopia in an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in the Garden City.
