Ayew has endured a rocky patch following his move from Swansea to West Ham. The attacker was unfortunate to have missed the first three months of the season after sustaining an injury on his debut against Chelsea.

The Ghanaian has since not discovered his form and has been battling for game time at the Olympic Stadium.

However, following his equalizer for the club against Watford, he has been praised by captain Mark Nobel who thinks there is more to come from the former Marseille man.

Nobel told the club’s official website: "I was speaking to Dre [Andre Ayew] the other day and said 'Look, when you come to a new club and get injured in your first game and are out for three months, then you come back and you're away for another month at the African Nations Cup, it's so hard to get back involved.

"Credit to Dre, because he's come back and worked hard, he's great around the squad and he got what he deserved.

"He is a very good signing and I knew that when we signed him, but he's had it tough.

"I'm pretty sure he'll stay fit now and get us some more goals."

Ayew's goal against Watford was only his second since joining West Ham in the summer.
