The midfielder was rushed to the hospital after collapsing in training, but he was later reported dead after doctors failed in their attempt to revive him.

Family members and sympathizers of Tiote gathered in Beijing on Tuesday to pay tribute to the former Newcastle United midfielder.

Tiote’s ex-team-mate at Newcastle United, Papis Cisse was also in attendance, and the Senegalese striker could not hold back his tears.

Cisse was visibly shedding tears as he mounted the podium to pay his last respect to Tiote.
