N’golo Kante should win PFA player of the year - Michael Essien

Ghana international Michael Essien wants Chelsea midfielder N'gola Kante to be named PFA player of the year.

Kante was a revelation last season, having marshaled Leicester City’s midfield to propel the club to a surprise title triumph.

The France international’s exploits earned him a big money move to Chelsea, in deal purported to be worth in excess of £30million.

The 25-year-old was so far not shown any signs of slowing down, with his imperious form helping Chelsea to the top of the table, and on course to win the league title this season.

Kante was again the hero on Monday when Chelsea faced Manchester United in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup, with the midfielder scoring the only goal of the game to seal passage for the Blues.

Chelsea legend, Michael Essien has been hugely impressed by the output of Kante, and believes the former Leicester merits the award of PFA player of the year.

In a tweet Essien wrote: “N’golo Kante, my Premier League player of the season.”
