Ghanaian clubs namely Aduana Stars and
Aduana Stars emerged champions of the 2016-17 Ghana Premier League, whereas Asante Kotoko defeated their arch rivals, Hearts of Oak 3-1 to secure the slots to represent Ghana in African inter-club competitions next year.
The draw which happened in the early hours of Wednesday will see Asante Kotoko face Congolese giants CARA Brazzaville, former champions of CAF Champions League, while Aduana Stars have been paired with Libyan side El Tahadi.
Ghanaian clubs in the past have struggled against North African oppositions, so Aduana Stars have herculean task on their hands.
Asante Kotoko are not new to playing against Congolese sides and they had to face AS Police on their way to reaching the final of the Cup Winners Cup in 2002.
The first league will take place on the weekend of 9-11 February 2018 and the second league 16-17, 2018.
