Maintain Nyantakyi as FA Prez - former Ghana coach

The Israeli disagrees with fans who want Kwesi Nyantakyi to follow his example of resigning after Ghana's AFCON 2017 failure

There have been calls from the public for the 48-year-old lawyer to resign from his post as chief of Ghana football following his inability to supervise the team to victory in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon.

It was the 7th consecutive tournament that Ghana has failed to win under the Nyantakyi-led administration.

“Kwesi Nyantakyi is a great guy and needs support from government," Grant said in an interview with Accra-based Starr fm.

"I will like Ghanaians to maintain him as the Football Association President."

Avram Grant resigned from his job as Ghana coach on Tuesday after guiding Ghana to fourth place in Gabon, three weeks before the end of his contract.

“He (Nyantakyi) has done a lot for the country and I believe with support from the Nation he will really do more for country," Grant added.

“He is a hard working guy and wants to do his best for his country so it will be good if he stays at the position.”

Kwesi Nyantakyi has been th President of the GFA since December 2005.
