Jordan Ayew’s Aston Villa end winless jinx

Jordan Ayew and his teammates won their first Premier League game after going 19 games without a win

The moment the club has been waiting for. The moment the manager has been waiting for. The moment the players have all been waiting for. Aston Villa won their first Premier League game since the opening day of the season.

Jordan Ayew and his Aston Villa teammates ended their winless jinx after defeating Crystal Palace at Villa Park on Tuesday night.

Aston Villa who have had an abysmal run of form this season were without a win in 19 Premier League fixtures ahead of hosting match day adversaries Crystal Palace.

The slump had seen the club sack Tim Sheerwood who began the season with the club. Remi Garde’s takeover had also not been a smooth one as the club continued with their inability to win games despite some brilliant performances in games.

Aston Villa ended their wait for a win in the game against Crystal Palace, beating the visiting club by a single goal without reply to lift the winless pressure off Remi Garde and his players.

Joleon Lescott scored the winner for Aston Villa in the game. Ghanaian player Jordan Ayew started and played in the full duration of the game.
