Gerard Nus to join Black Stars technical team

The Black Stars will have the services of a video analyst as well as a physical trainer at the tournament in Gabon.
 
 

Video analyst Gerard Nuus and physical trainer Jamie Lawrence have been added to the technical team of the Black Stars for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations.

The two men worked together with Avram Grant in Equatorial Guinea two years ago when Ghana narrowly missed out on the trophy to neighbours Ivory Coast.

Gerard Nus who currently works as a video analyst with Spanish outfit Rayo Vallecano will be charged with keeping tabs on the players during training and matches to help improve them.

Jamaican physical trainer, Jamie Lawrence will also be part of Avram Grant’s backroom staff for the one-month tournament in Gabon. He is also expected to help improve the fitness levels of the Black Stars players.

The pair are expected to join the Black Stars when they pitch camp in the United Arab Emirates on 2nd January, 2017.

Ghana has been paired in Group B together with Egypt, Uganda and Mali - to be based in Port Gentil.
