Asante Kotoko finished winners of Group A after a one-all draw against Ashanti Gold and will lock horns with Aduana Stars, who defeated MTN FA Cup Champions Medeama SC 3-0 in the early kick off on Saturday to book a ticket to the final.
Aduana Stars looked a match improved side to the one that drew against Hearts of Oak, and made the best of the opportunities that came their way to thrash Medeama SC.
On the other hand, depleted Porcupine Warriors barely looked like a side without the services of talismen Ahmed Adams, Amos Frimpong, Theophilus Nyame, Jackson Owusu, Frank Sarfo Gyamfi, Obed Owusu, Dauda Mohammed and head coach David Duncan.
The 'second string' Kotoko gave Ashanti Gold a hell of problems, but Aduana Stars will be a different opposition.
With the likes of experienced former Kotoko players, Richard Mpong, Yahaya Mohammed and Joseph Addo, Kotoko backline will be asked questions they must be ready to provide answers if they want David Duncan to deem them appropriate for a starting berth.
The recent meetings between the two sides have gone either ways, Aduana Stars defeated Kotoko home and lost the away encounter during the First Capital Plus Bank Premier League.
The game is expected to be an exciting encounter as the players gradually hit into competitive shape after two matches.
