The young goalie was superb in post to deny strikers on numerous occasions. Abalora conceded 9 goals in 15 matches, which made WAFA the second least number of goals conceded by a club in the first round. He kept 7 clean sheets and his output earned him a call up into the Black Stars ‘B’ side.
Caleb Amankwah
The West African Football Academy (WAFA) defender has been the most outstanding right full back after the first round of the season. He has been solid in defence and his splendid runs across the flanks added a lot of potency to the attack of WAFA.

Abdul Bashiru
The former Dreams FC skipper was undoubtedly the most consistent left full-back in the first round of the Ghana Premier League. His play can be likened to Marcello of Real Madrid. He plays tirelessly and he is mostly the initiator of attack for Bechem United and his recovery rate was exceptional. Abdul Bashiru scored from a direct corner kick against Hearts of Oak to hit another milestone in his career.
Samuel Sarfo
He has eyes for goals, hence making him the highest scoring defender after the first half of the season with six goals. Sarfo who is the skipper for Liberty Professionals has been commanding the backline of his defence.
Stephen Anokye Badu

The youngster gave the Aduana Stars goalie much protection. Anokye Badu has a better understanding and reading of the game. He has good clearances and block dangerous balls that were sent into his side’s 18-yard box.
Gideon Waja
The WAFA midfielder is the boss in midfield for the league leaders. His tackles and ball distributions throughout the season made it difficult for their opponents to match them in midfield. He is also a dead ball expert, having scored two goals from direct free kick.
Majeed Ashimeru
He is very skilful on the ball and mostly retains possession. Ashimeru’s total contribution to team play has been amazing due to his high work rate. His partnership with Gideon Waja has proven to be the best throughout the season. He was named the Man of the Match in four games, making him come second to Emmanuel Gyamfi of Kotoko, who won the highest number of awards.

Emmanuel Gyamfi
The Asante Kotoko winger until match day 8 was the finest player of the season. He used his speed, skill and trickery nature to the advantage of his opponents.
He created several goal scoring opportunities for Asante Kotoko and won the highest number of the Most Valuable Player (MVP)- 5.
Thomas Abbey
The workaholic left winger finished the season on a high note. He had to initially fight for a place in the Hearts of Oak team. He started the season mostly as a left full back and when the captaincy of the team fell on him, he took the mantle upon himself to deliver.

Abbey came to the rescue of Hearts of Oak in difficult fixtures and ended up emerging as the club’s top scorer with seven goals and just a goal behind Stephen Sarfo, the top scorer of the season.
Stephen Sarfo
The Berekum Chelsea marksman was a torn in the flesh of most defenders. He is a playmaker cum scorer, creating chances and scoring as well. Stephen Sarfo has six goals to his credit and has also scored six goals in the process.
Nicholas Gyan
The Ebusua Dwarfs danger man is the leading top scorer after the first half of the season, having hit the target eight times. He gave defenders torrid time and he draws deep to midfield to support his team when he is not with the ball.
