Black Maidens drawn in group of death

The U-17 Women’s national football team of Ghana have been drawn with defending champion, Japan, USA and Paraguay in group D.

The draw was held on Monday at the King Hussein Cultural Centre in Amman, Jordan on Monday.

Group D is expected to be a tough one, since it has the holders, Japan, 2008 losing finalists, USA, Paraguay and Ghana, the only African side that have won a medal in the history of the competition.

Ghana completed a 10-nil aggregate win over Morocco to book their ticket to the competition to be staged in Jordan from 30th September to 21st October

In the other draws, host nation Jordan will face Spain, Mexico and New Zealand in Group A while fellow African side Cameroon will lock horns with Venezuela, Germany and Canada.

In Group C, Nigeria will play Brazil, England and Korea DPR.
