Yaw Preko named caretaker coach of Ifeanyi Ubah of Nigeria

The former Hearts of Oak deputy coach has confirmed taking over from his boss Kenichi Yatsuhashi as the acting coach of the Nigerian topflight side.

The Japanese-American trainer took over Ifeanyi Ubah a month ago, but following a poor start to the Nigeria Premier Football Laeague (NPFL) Super 4, losing his first two games, he left his job, after it was reported that both the technical director and the playing body of the club questioned his tactics.

However, his assistant Yaw Preko has been handed the acting coaching role job, against earlier reports that he was sacked alongside his boss, Kenichi Yatsuhashi.

''I was the one on the bench yesterday (Sunday) when we played league champions Rangers 1-1 draw in the last match of the top 4 tournament.'
