Football faithful trooped to the Banquet Hall of the State House to pay tribute to Charles Kumi Gyamfi, the former Black Stars skipper and coach.

C.K Gyamfi laid in state
The legendary ex-footballer and coach was today laid in state at the Banquet Hall of the State house, ahead of his burial on Saturday at Okorase.

Some of the top football administrators who were there pay their respect to the deceased were Kwesi Nyantakyi, the GFA President and his Vice George Afriyie, Enoch Teye Mensah , the longest serving sports minister in the history of Ghana, Nana Sam Brew Butler, a former GFA Chairman, Dr Nyaho Tamakloe, also a former GFA Chairman, Elvis Afriyie Ankrah, a former Youth and Sports Minister and Mohammed Polo, a former Black Stars player.
The celebrated Ghana coach who passed away on September 12, aged 86 was the first coach to win the African Cup of Nations on three occasions, a feat which was equaled by the Egyptian Hassan Shehata.
He was the first African player to play in Germany when he joined Fortuna Dusseldorf in 1960.

The funeral arrangement is as follows:
The late CK Gyamfi will be buried at his hometown of Okorase on Saturday December 19.
Sunday December 20 will mark the Thanks-giving Service at the Rev. Joseph Thomas Clegg Memorial Methodist Church, Kaneshie, Accra.
