Asante Kotoko coach David Duncan was at the club’s training ground, Adako Jachie on Tuesday but none of his players and backroom staff showed up.
Duncan on Monday was told by Asante Kotoko management led by Opoku Nti to step aside until further notice following the club’s abysmal performances in the ongoing Ghana premier league.
But the former Hearts of Oak gaffer through his legal representative has rebuffed Kotoko’s management decision insisting there is no step aside in his contract.
According to information gathered by Pulse.com.gh, the Kumasi based club on Tuesday adopted the Baba Yara Sports Stadium for their Tuesday’s training which was supervised by the assistant coach Michael Osei.
“Monday a letter was sent to David Duncan to step aside, per the club’s management we know Duncan is currently not the head coach of the club.
“I heard he was at Adako Jachie but the team trained at Baba Yara Stadium on Tuesday morning what I know is that Michael Osei is the acting head coach now,” a source close to Kotoko told Pulse.com.gh.
Kotoko are currently at the bottom of the log sheet with 5 points.
