Everton are keen on young Burnley striker Daniel Agyei.

The 19-year-old, who has just one season left to run on his contract at Turf Moor after this one, is being targeted as the Goodison Park club make plans for Romelu Lukaku’s disappearance.

He isn’t seen as a direct replacement for the prolific Belgian but he would add to boss Ronald Koeman’s attacking options if they do lose their talisman.

He returned to Burnley in January and boss Sean Dyche handed him his debut against Liverpool last month and used him as a substitute again a few days later against Everton.

Agyei qualifies to play for both England and Ghana, with the FA making overtures to get him into the Three Lions’ Under-20s.
