“Christian Atsu, substituted at half-time in Friday’s match between Málaga-Getafe due to injury discomfort, underwent a series of tests this morning at Clínicas Rincón-La Rosaleda.  The Ghanaian-born winger is suffering from a muscular injury to the anterior quadriceps in his right leg. His participation in upcoming matches will depend on the development of the injury.”

The Ghanaian winger joined the Spanish club after Chelsea ended his loan spell with English Premier League club AFC Bournemouth. The player had troubles with injury at Bournemouth and could not play a single Premier League game for the club before leaving.
