Ghana international Christian Atsu is having a medical at Newcastle ahead of a season-long loan move, according to reports.

Atsu has been closing in on another loan to Newcastle in the past few days, with a deal between Chelsea and the championship club believed to be agreed.

Atsu joined the Blues from Porto in 2013 but is yet to make a single Premier League appearance for the club.
The Ghana international has instead been loaned out over the past three years, spending time at Vitesse, Everton, Bournemouth and Malaga

And now Sky Sports claim he is having a medical on Tyneside ahead of joining on a season-long loan.
The report adds the Magpies have the option to buy the 24-year-old at the end of the season.
