GFA delegation jubilates over Nyantakyi's appointment as CAF 1st Vice President
The GFA delegation that accompanied Kwesi Nyantakyi to Bahrain for the Confederation of African (CAF) has celebrated over the appointment of the former as the 1st Vice President of CAF.
Nyantakyi was named as the 1st Vice President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) on Monday
Nyantakyi appointment was approved by the Executive Committee of CAF, following its first meeting under new President Ahmad Ahmad in Bahrain capital of Manama on Monday.
He went for the congress in the company of the GFA Vice President, George Afriyie and Frank Nelson and two others. The delegation were the first to congratulate Nyantakyi on his appointment to the high position in African football.
The owner of Wa All Stars becomes the second Ghanaian, after Ohene Djan to assume this high position in African football.
The legal practitioner was elected the Vice President of the Ghana Football Association in 2004 and subsequently elected as GFA President in 2005. He has since been in office as the President of the Ghana Football Association and was later elected onto CAF Executive Committee in 2011 and FIFA Council in 2016.
