Klitschko's rematch with Tyson Fury for the WBA and WBO heavyweight titles was postponed for a second time on Friday.
Fury's management released a statement on Friday claiming the controversial Briton is "medically unfit" to fight in Manchester next month.
The original date, scheduled for June, was also scrapped after Fury sprained an ankle, meaning Klitschko's wait to attempt to avenge the surprise defeat will likely extend to over a year.
However, the Ukrainian great may now be in line to mix it with another Brit in the form of the exciting and explosive Joshua.
The IBF heavyweight champion has won each of his 17 professional fights, all via knockout, and a meeting with Klitschko is an avenue that Hearn is keen to explore.
Responding to a Tweet suggesting the fight should be made, Hearn replied: "Reached out to @Klitschko team - we love the fight! @anthonyfjoshua."
Joshua is set to defend his title at Manchester Arena on November 26, with Joseph Parker expected to be his opponent.
